National Hispanic Heritage Month – Aaron E. Valdez

During National Hispanic Heritage Month, our nation observes the importance and contributions of Hispanics and Latin Americans in our community. Maverick County Hospital District is proud to be composed of many Hispanic members who have contributed to our city and achieved positive changes for our citizens throughout their careers.

Today, we want to honor the career of Maverick County Hospital District Board of Trustee Aaron E. Valdez.

For years, Mr. Valdez has been a prominent member of our communities in Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, starting his career as a Funeral Director for the family-owned Memorial Funeral Chapels. Throughout the years, Mr. Valdez has developed relationships with many families in the community, and has had the opportunity to learn about the issues that our citizens face in healthcare, finance, and many others.

In 2013, Aaron took a vital step forward in his career as an entrepreneur by launching Smart Energy Solution, a renewable energy company focused on bringing modern, accessible solar technology to Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras. Today, the company has successfully completed dozens of projects, both residential and for businesses in both sides of the border.

“Our team is proud to be part of the renewable energy movement ,” said Mr. Valdez. “We believe this is one of the most important issues we face as a community, as a country, and globally. The perfect time to start moving towards renewable energy is now, whether you’re a small business or a homeowner. And we’re thankful that as a company, we can work ambitiously towards lowering our carbon footprint and investing in our future and the future of our families and children – both economically and progressively.”

Mr. Valdez has continued to build on his career as an entrepreneur by attending and participating in seminars and courses in Texas and Mexico, and joining events centered in different industries, including energy, business, and finance. In 2018, Mr. Valdez was elected as a Board Member for the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce, giving him yet another opportunity to contribute to the business sector in the community by not developing new projects, but by assisting in bringing more business to the city. According to Aaron, it is this experience and business proficiency that is his most important asset as a member of the Maverick County Hospital District Board of Trustees.

“I believe that our community is in an excellent position to start accelerating towards the future,” continued Mr. Valdez. “We are very fortunate to have great individuals in our city that know how to tackle the issues that our citizens are facing – whether it’s healthcare, education, financial, or energy.”

Aaron is proud to be a part of Maverick County Hospital District’s Board of Trustees and is looking forward to continuing to build on their mission alongside his colleagues.

“As Secretary Treasurer for the Maverick County Hospital District Board of Trustees, I’ve had the privilege of working with a great group of leaders to bring high quality healthcare to our community. I’m proud of what we have accomplished this year, and look forward to continue advancing towards our goals. We will continue to bring more doctors, more specialists, and more providers to our community. We’ll provide more healthcare services that our patients need, and not only lower the travel expenses of our citizens, but bring a much more practical approach to their healthcare needs.”

This year, Mr. Valdez added another task to his involvement as a member and leader of the community by handling Head Coaching duties for Eagle Pass Little League Football’s team Panthers (10u AYF football).

“This is probably one of the most enjoyable and unique learning experiences I’ve had as a member of the community,” Mr. Valdez said. “I believe it’s hugely important to teach our future leaders what it takes to succeed – whether it’s a football game, education, or your career. I’m very fortunate to be in a position to teach our kids the value of teamwork, hard work, dedication, and commitment – the same values that my MCHD colleagues and I lead by.”

On behalf of everyone at Maverick County Hospital District, we want to thank Aaron Valdez for his contributions to our communities, and are looking forward to the work and developments your career has in store for our city and organization.
